Outline

Co–respond is a collaborative writing project between SEVENTH gallery artists and a group of emerging writers. The logo itself is also a collaboration, but of two different typefaces; Maple and Elena by Process Type Foundry. We used an em dash to link the two words together, and also used it to make a series of geometric patterns, which we used throughout the printed publication and website.

Logo

We used two different typefaces for the logo, and also used two different colour schemes.

Patterns

Overlapping patterns create an eye-catching moire effect.

Publication and flyer

We used different colours and patterns on the printed materials.

Flyer detail

Typesetting with Elena and Maple by Process Type Foundry.

Two covers

The publication was printed with two different coloured covers.

Publication spreads

Unique patterns were created for each artist’s exhibition photo spread. We then used the same pattern on the corresponding writer’s response later in the publication.

Website

The patterns featured strongly on the website; we even animated them as you scrolled down the page.
