We were commissioned by Crime Stoppers Victoria to create a new website targetted at young audiences. Taking our inspiration from their tagline “Put the Finger on Crime” and a classic Crime Stoppers TVC from ‘91, we came up with the concept of ‘The Finger’. The project’s main outcome was a website driven by a custom CMS, but also included a photography and promotional video campaign.

To keep young audiences from being too bored, we kept the images massive and headlines chunky.

Education resources
We couldn’t help but make custom file icons for the various types of uploadable files that the CMS can handle.

Article
For what is an undeniably information heavy website, we managed to keep the pages clean with a very simple grid.

The CMS
We believe that a website’s CMS should be as transparent as possible, so The Finger’s Admin section looks almost exactly the same as the actual website. The learning curve is practically flat, so that any user can maintain the site.

Logotype
The logotype features the kickass typeface Facebuster by Silas Dilworth.
